LA COMPAGNIA DI CATERINA

The home fragrance collection LCDCLa Compagnia di Caterina, pays homage to the story of Catherine de' Medici and her journey to Paris. Together with designer Luca Nichetto, we have envisioned and given shape to the figures in her entourage: L'Amazzone (The Amazon), L'Amante (The Lover), Il Letterato (The Scholar), Il Seguace (The Companion), Il Favorito (The Favourite), Il Frate (The Friar), and La Dama (The Lady). Each member of Catherine de' Midici's court is considered a symbol of valor to aspire to, an ideal to ignite one's inner fire; to burn with passion, to nourish the fire of ambition, leadership and wisdom, to keep the flame of friendship, grace and generosity alive, and to show great courage even when everything goes up in smoke. On a quest for a modern Renaissance, we have created a symbolic journey of the senses that unites Florence and Paris through seven fragrances: White Jealousy, The Gold Crown, Orange Renaissance, Purple Hill and Black Stone, and the two new arrivals Amber Lagoon and Musk Road. Fragrances and characters meet then in these designer scented candles, reed diffusers and porcelain incense burners, and, together, they create La Compagnia Di Caterina.

WHAT ARE YOU BURNING FOR?

THE CHARACTERS IN THE LCDC COLLECTION ARE HISTORICAL FIGURES, BROUGHT TO LIFE, THANKS TO AN UNCONVENTIONAL AND VISIONARY REINTERPRETATION, TO SHARE WITH YOU THEIR DESIRE TO BURN BRIGHTLY FOR SOMETHING: A LOVED ONE, A PASSION, A DREAM, AN IDEAL.

Every character in the Entourage of Caterina de’ Medici symbolises a value to aspire to, an ideal which kindles one’s inner fire. And, each one has their own reasons for asking to be lit by this fire: one to burn with passion. One to fuel the fire of ambition, leadership and wisdom. One to keep alive the fire of friendship, grace and generosity. One, in the case of the Fire-Master, to show great courage in seeing it all go up in smoke.
