"Alzata traforata con figure" Liberty

The Three Graces vase and the Art Nouveau centrepiece are emblematic of the Manufactory?s adherence to the aesthetic style of Art Nouveau (see Tables XVI - XVIII). These works perfectly represent the artistic references of the period as well as Richard Ginori?s interpretation of them. On the occasion of the Exhibition in Turin in 1902, the company renovated some pieces in the ?new style? which continued to be a distinctive feature of their production until 1910. The sense of osmosis with nature, common to female figures in Art Nouveau style, seems betrayed, however, by the static, majestic quality of the three figures, which, like the caryatids supporting Classical temples, relieve the centrepiece of the task of supporting the basket for the fruit. In this case, it appears to mark a return to the stylistic features that were the forerunners of Art Nouveau style, with classicism still predominant in a pre- Raphaelite-style neo-medieval vision.
